ANGELES – (Sep. 17, 2007) Ingrid Hoffmann, host of the new
show Simply Delicioso on Food Network and appeared in person to
greet fans and sign autographs at the Fiestas Patrias Mexican
Independence celebration in Santa Ana, California on Sunday, Sep.
16.
“I’m
here to celebrate Mexican Independence day,” said Hoffmann,
as she addressed the crowds from the main stage. “I also
want to remind you that we are beginning Hispanic Heritage Month
in the U.S., which is a symbol of unity among Latinos of all nationalities
who now live in the United States. Que Viva México!”
Fiestas
Patrias is a major consumer event for the Hispanic community,
which was held Sept. 15 and 16 in Santa Ana, California. With
over 250,000 attendees in 2006, this Latin celebration has become
one of the largest Independence Day events in the country.
Hoffmann, who resides in Miami, is gearing up for the next season
of her hit show, Delicioso on Galavision and her English-language
show, Simply Delicioso is currently airing its first season on
Food Network Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. EST/PST. “Reaching
both the Spanish and English speaking audiences has been an incredible
experience,” says Hoffmann. “I am passionate about
food and I want to inspire people to approach cooking in a new
way. I also love introducing my culture through food, using delectable
Latin ingredients, such as avocados.”
“Her
shows and appearances will gain the attention of both Hispanic
and general market audiences in a very meaningful way,”
says Maggie Bezart, marketing director of CAIA. “Hispanics
are big users of avocados so we’ve designed our efforts
to target this market. The Hispanic shopper is as important to
us as the general market shopper,” continues Bezart. “Many
of our programs are directed specifically to the Hispanic community
and many are bilingual.”
The
Chilean Avocado Importers Association represents the growers and
importers of Chilean Hass avocados and promotes them through retail
programs, advertising and public relations activities during the
Chilean season, August through February. Chilean Hass avocados
are available throughout the fall and winter, when California
avocados are out of season.

Antonio
Aguilar Jr.
will be performing Sunday afternoon on the Main Stage.
Criado
en el bello estado de Zacatecas, Antonio Aguilar hijo comenzó
su pasión por la música viajando con sus padres
y cantando detrás de los escenarios y fue en un teatro
de la ciudad de New York a la edad de 4 años cuando por
primera vez acompaño a Don Antonio Aguilar al frente del
espectáculo. A partir de entonces Antonio Aguilar comienza
su vida en los escenarios y su preparación profesional.
Montar
a caballos era parte de su preparación y con ello completaban
los Aguilar el espectáculo que incursionaron al territorio
norteamericano, México, Centro y Sudamerica asi como el
Caribe.
Viajando
siempre al lado de sus padres recorrieron durante años
las principales ciudades de la unión americana siendo su
espectáculo el primero en presentarse en coliseos abriendo
trecho para los siguientes exponentes de la música mexicana
y de otros generos en español. Con espectáculos
absolutamente familiares Don Antonio Aguilar, Doña Flor
Silvestre y su pequeño hijo Antonio Aguilar presentaban
innumerables suertes a caballo de la alta escuela española
y la charrería.
Ya
con 7 años y con un entrenamiento de respaldo, Antonio
Aguilar hijo provocaba sensación en sus presentaciones
que cada vez se extendían mas entre ferias, ruedos y coliseos
en giras hasta de 11 meses de duración. Es asi como la
dinastía Aguilar logra reunir público americano
y público hispano presentando por primera vez en Estados
Unidos un espectáculo ecuestre bilingüe incluyendo
en su repertorio temas de Frank Sinatra con mariachi que interpretaba
su padre Don Antonio Aguilar.
A
los 22 años de edad ingresa a la Universidad Iberoamericana
a la carrera de Administración de Empresas y se recibe
en 1988 pero sin descuidar su profesión de cantante ya
que los fines de semana se incorporaba a las giras con sus padres
y simultáneamente estudiaba canto y adiestramiento ingles
‘La Ciencia Del Caballo’.
Ha
participado en películas desde los ocho años y se
ha dedicado a su negocio agropecuario en los últimos años,
además de grabar varios álbumes de música
mexicana.
En
el 2006 junto a su hermano Pepe Aguilar y sus padres recorrieron
gran parte de los Estados Unidos y México en un concierto
de despedida de Don Antonio Aguilar, quien falleció en
este 2007, desde entonces Antonio Aguilar hijo ha tomado la batuta
de continuar el legado que dejo su padre, y es, llevar la música
mexicana a todos los rincones del mundo.

Mariachi
Divas
will be performing on the Main Stage Sunday 12pm-2pm
Founded
by Cindy Shea in 1999, the all-female Mariachi Divas are continuously
making big waves on the Los Angeles music scene. Mariachi Divas
is a unique, multi-cultural ensemble, and over the years has been
represented by women of: Mexican, Cuban, Samoan, Argentinian,
Columbian, Panamanian, Puerto Rican, Swiss, Japanese, and Anglo
decent. Founder and Director Cindy Shea states, “Music is
a way of uniting our cultural backgrounds.”
Mariachi Divas has been featured at the Arrowhead Pond, Universal
Amphitheatre, Staples Center, Greek Theater, Santa Barbara Bowl,
the LA Forum for the 2005 “Premio La Gente” Live TV
Awards Show and the LA Shrine at the 2006 Alma Awards.They have
also accompanied Grammy winning artists such as: Joan Sebastian,
Jenny Rivera, Marco Antonio Solis, Pablo Montero, and Paulina
Rubio. In 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2007 the Divas have showcased
their innovative sounds at the NAMM SHOW in Anaheim, CA. Recently
the Divas were invited to perform at the Tucson International
Mariachi Concert, Fresno Radio Bilingue Mariachi Show and the
Santa Barbara Bowl where they had the honor of performing with
Mariachi Vargas and Nati Cano’s Mariachi Los Camperos. Mariachi
Divas performed, and were featured as one of the main televised
acts, for over 500,000 people on the streets of downtown Los Angeles
at the largest "Cinco de Mayo" celebration in the world-The
14th and 15th Annual Fiesta Broadway 2003 and 2004. They have
appeared at the L.A. County Fair numerous times including the
most recent in September 2003 performing as part of the famous
Mariachi USA. The Divas have not only traveled throughout the
USA including performances in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, but also
performed in Tampico, Mexico in 2004. Mariachi Divas has performed
four times at the John Anson Ford Theater including a celebration
of the "Day of the Dead", a "Women in Jazz"
concert in 2004, 2005, and 2006 put on a show in which they were
the headliners. The Divas also appear in the recently released
documentary "Viva El Mariachi".
Mariachi Divas have made several television appearances on shows
such as: Despierta America, Control, Vista LA, Primer Impacto,
Escandalo, LATV's "Adelante Hispanos", Sabado Gigante,
Off the Roof, De Todo Un Poco, BBQ with Bobby Flay, Primera Edicion,
Atrevete, Futbol Mania, 12 Corazones, Bienvenido a Casa, and recently
took roles as actors as they took part in two independent films,
"Dead Man's Shoe" and "La Dentista" where
the music from their CD was used as the movies' soundtrack. The
Divas are also now proud to announce the National release of their
3 CD’s through “East Side Records” which will
be releasing throughout the United States June 26, 2007.
In September 2003, Mariachi Divas began performing and continue
to perform every week for audiences of all ages while strolling
throughout the streets of Disneyland and California Adventure
in Anaheim.
Mariachi Divas musicians’ are currently endorsed by LP Percussion,
Zeta Music, IntellitouchTuners, Soundback Acoustic Monitors, CodaBow
International, Marcinkiewicz, and LPD Music.
Never stepping too far from what brought them together, the sound
of mariachi rings though every song that is played no matter what
style of music they choose to perform.
